As a local charity, give2give always has to keep an eye on their budget to ensure their charitable aims can be delivered. However as they have 4 retail outlets, ensuring a consistent level of footfall is imperative (as is a stream of donated items to sell through the shops). Of course the retail sector has had a very challenging few years, and more and more charity retail shops have been springing up in high streets across the land. As such helping them to stay at the forefront has been a challenge. Our first task was to help with a website re-design. The existing site was bespoke so internally the team were unable to make changes (therefore is was costly to maintain and quickly became outdated). A fresh WordPress design was installed and we trained the team to be able to manage their own edits.
Our next task was to review the level of advertising expenditure. A combination of using Yellow Pages and the local press to promote their services meant that they always had a big bill. So we stopped all activity, made use of free listings and constantly assessed the number of calls to their donation line to see whether it was having a negative impact. It didn’t. As such some of the money was re-directed into more valuable marketing efforts that were less costly and delivered a better ROI. The rest of the money was saved and now gets put to good use to support the people of Bromley.
